Who should use Google Adsense

Who should use Google Adsense

No one can make this decision for you. Google Adsense is perhaps best suited to information sites that receive plenty of traffic but have not yet found a way to exploit this traffic commercially. For such web sites, Google Adsense can be a convenient form of income.

Of course, you will have to judge whether or not the appearance of Google Ads enhances or hinders the viewing experience of your visitors.

Some webmasters may be purists who hate the thought of ads that they have little control over appearing on their pages. Others will consider it a service to their visitors to provide highly relevant advertisements associated with their page content. Indeed, the appearance of Google advertising on a site can be seen as a mark of quality on the grounds that Google will reject sites that do not show a measure of professionalism.

There will also be sites that are already highly profitable and that do not wish to give their visitors too many opportunities to leave their site. Such sites may be reducing their profitability by running Adsense ads.

On the other hand, the owners of such sites may find that running Google Adsense provides them with another revenue stream without reducing their own sales significantly. After all, some advertisements will be for a slightly different product or service to the one provided on your site and that does not compete directly with your own sales. Indeed, Google is also good at gearing ads to a particular region and so, for instance, a visitor reaching your site from the UK may be served ads from UK companies that the visitor would wish to use in any case.

By running Adsense, you may, in many cases, be providing your visitor with a richer shopping experience by offering an alternative that you do not provide. In other words, some of the traffic you send away will involve visitors who would not have bought from you on this occasion in any case. You also have the option of filtering out ads from sites that may be in direct competition with you. Again, these are decisions that have to be made on a site by site basis and even on a page by page basis. After all, you need only run Adsense on those pages that you decide would be appropriate.
